Stitch 'N Pitch--Play Ball!

August 5 is the date and we are getting ready for more striking fun with our needles and crochet hooks. Tickets are now available at Seattle Yarn--$15 each and we'll throw in a free punch on your yarn card for every ticket purchased.
Debbie Bliss will be there to throw out the first ball and Bobble heads will be given out until they run out.
Here's a picture from last year with Lia, Ruth and Sue. What can I say, we gotta lotta balls.

The First Ever July Tent Sale

This is the big one--come early and enjoy great bargains, great laughs and lots of yarn. We set up the tent every year but this year we are coordinating with the rest of the street fair merchants in West Seattle even if we aren't in the Junction proper.
Our sale starts on Thursday, July 8, from 10-8 and runs from 10-5 Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Everything will be at least 10% off with great big discounts for end of season, discontinued and unloved yarn. This year we are also offering samples at great prices so you can get some early gift shopping started.
Apparently our weather was really good last August so let's pray for good weather for all of West Seattle during this summer festival.

The Bejeweled Snood

One of the great things that happens at the Sewing Expo is the minutes of down time we have between the waves of people. So we create quick projects that require no brain power--like this great little number.
One skein of Galaxy
Size 17 needles and a yarn needle.
Cast on 25 stitches. Knit each row. When you have about 18 inches of yarn left, thread the yarn needle with the end of the yarn, fold the cast on side of the work with one twist and sew the yarn through the end of the cast on edge, then through the first loop on the knitting needle. Slide this loop off of the needle and sew it to the cast on side. Repeat these steps to create a nice loose scarf that will add a touch of color to your life.
