The Bejeweled Snood

One of the great things that happens at the Sewing Expo is the minutes of down time we have between the waves of people. So we create quick projects that require no brain power--like this great little number.
One skein of Galaxy
Size 17 needles and a yarn needle.
Cast on 25 stitches. Knit each row. When you have about 18 inches of yarn left, thread the yarn needle with the end of the yarn, fold the cast on side of the work with one twist and sew the yarn through the end of the cast on edge, then through the first loop on the knitting needle. Slide this loop off of the needle and sew it to the cast on side. Repeat these steps to create a nice loose scarf that will add a touch of color to your life.

The Sewing Expo

We've been doing this for ten years. It's a lot of work, but it really shakes out the cobwebs and gets creative juices flowing. This year we invited Snooterdoots and Woolpets to play with us. It was great fun. I also taught a class on The Perfect Button Bracelet. The ladies had a great time here are a few pictures from Puyallup.

C&P Knitters

We had a great time--about 30 people appeared throughout the evening. A little wine, a little coffee, a few snacks, lots of conversation, a prize filled drawing --- who could ask for more. And of course, knitting--now that's perfection.
We're planning another outing, and we're expanding our ideas of what a great outing will be. I'm thinking that we need to do a dance venue so we can get our juices flowing for better crafting. What do you think?

Anything bugging you?

Snooter-doots are invading our house. Woke up this morning to find these bugs trying to make a break for it. They are cute, but I'm not sure if I want them everywhere.
